The Ankeny Christian Academy girls’ basketball team closed out its season on Thursday with a 58-38 loss at West Bend-Mallard in the opening round of a Class 1A regional tournament.
The Eagles finished with an 11-10 record.
West Bend-Mallard (9-13) outscored ACA in the second quarter, 21-11, to build a 31-19 lead at halftime. The Wolverines continued to pull away in the second half behind Addie Montag and Chloe Dickey, who each finished with 15 points.
Havanna Dolbeare recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Eagles. She also had four blocks.
Ella Leever led ACA with 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting. She also had four steals.
Avlyn Davis added seven points and four assists for ACA, which shot just 26.8 percent from the field (15-of-56). The Eagles went just 5-of-25 from 3-point range (20.0 percent).
West Bend-Mallard will play at top-ranked Bishop Garrigan (19-2) in a regional quarterfinal on Tuesday.
