The Ankeny girls’ tennis team dropped an 8-3 decision at Southeast Polk in a CIML Central Conference meet on Thursday.
Abby Johnson contributed to two of the Hawkettes’ three victories. She posted a 6-3, 6-2 win over Brooke Shepherd in the No. 5 singles match, then teamed up with Megan Somerfeld for another win at No. 2 doubles.
Ankeny’s other victory came at No. 4 doubles, where the duo of Lydia Blatt and Reilly Johnson won in straight sets.
Southeast Polk improved to 1-1 in the Central Conference and 2-1 overall. The Hawkettes’ records dropped to 0-2 and 1-2.
