Ankeny volleyball standout McKenna Scheib will be taking her talents to Peoria, Ill.
The senior middle hitter has committed to play for Bradley University.
“My decision wasn’t very hard,” Scheib said. “It is coming to the end of my high school career and I needed to move on, and Bradley was the perfect fit for me! From the first time I talked to the coaches, I had the best feeling about where it was going.”
Scheib helped the Hawkettes to the Class 5A state title as a senior. She was named to the Class 5A all-state first team by the Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association and was also selected to the CIML Iowa Conference first team.
Scheib racked up 159 kills and 69 blocks as Ankeny posted a 22-2 record. She compiled a .310 hitting percentage.
“I didn’t have any other offers, but I was coming to the final decision with a few other colleges and Bradley fit the best for me,” Scheib said. “I like how it’s in a neighboring state, the education is really good, and the campus was so pretty. The coaches and the players were so welcoming, and the girls in my class of 2021 are super cool.
“I just felt like Bradley was the best decision for me!” she added.
