Ankeny Centennial pitcher Colton Arndt has verbally committed to play baseball for the University of St. Thomas.
Arndt, a junior, said he wanted to stay in the Midwest and found what he was looking for at St. Thomas–which is located in St. Paul, Minn.
“I liked that I was going to get a really good education, along with playing baseball at the Division I level,” said Arndt. “I also knew I wanted to play as a freshman, and University of St. Thomas checked all of those boxes.”
Arndt helped the Jaguars to a 29-11 record last season as a sophomore. He appeared in six games with two starts.
Arndt posted a 0-1 record with a 4.32 ERA. He racked up 13 strikeouts in just 11 1/3 innings.
