
The Southeast Polk baseball team batted around in the third inning and went on to beat ninth-ranked Ankeny Centennial, 9-4, in a CIML Conference make-up game on Saturday at Pleasant Hill.
Kaden Hills hit a three-run triple to ignite the Rams’ five-run inning that erased Centennial’s early 2-1 lead. Noah Trexel followed with an RBI single off Colton Arndt (2-2) before Southeast Polk later added another run when Brayden Lewis drew a bases-loaded walk from reliever Owen Gasperi.

Lewis drove in three runs without getting a hit. He also had two sacrifice flies.
Trexel went 2-for-4, scored two runs and knocked in two more for the Rams, who improved to 9-8 in the league and 17-13 overall. Centennial’s records dropped to 11-7 and 18-9.
Cade Newman had two RBIs for the Jaguars. Reed Anderson and Alex Cory each drove in a run.

Kohen Bollwinkel went 3-for-3 in the loss. Jackson Reed went 2-for-4 with a double and scored a run.
Chase Burke allowed three runs on six hits over the first six innings as Southeast Polk won the season series against Centennial. The two teams had split a doubleheader on June 4.
The Jaguars will host a non-conference game against Norwalk (11-12) on Monday.
