
The Valley boys’ golf team capitalized on a home-course advantage to win a CIML Conference triangular meet against Ankeny and Ankeny Centennial on Wednesday at Willow Creek.
The Tigers posted a 286 total, while Centennial shot a 298 and earned a win over Ankeny, which finished with a score of 312. The Jaguars are now 1-3 in the conference, and the Hawks are 0-2.
Valley was led by Braeden Nelson, who carded a 9-under-par 62 to earn medalist honors. McCoy Miller of Centennial was the runner-up with a 67.
Jackson Lewis shot a 75 for the Jaguars. Everett Bloyer fired a 77, Tiernan Logan had a 79, Cade Miller shot an 81, and Colby Zinn added an 85.
Chase Ortega led Ankeny with a 77. Griffen Beelner and Ryan Constable each carded a 78, Gavin Ross shot a 79, and Elliott McHose and Gage Behrens each finished with an 82.
