With three meets on the road in the next four days, it’s going to be a tough week for the Ankeny girls’ tennis team.
The Hawkettes’ difficult stretch began on Monday with perhaps the biggest test of all–a matchup against one of the state’s top squads in Waukee Northwest.
The host Wolves swept all 11 matches in straight sets to post an 11-0 victory. They have now won seven straight meets since dropping a 7-4 decision to Valley on Aug. 21.
Northwest improved to 6-1 in the CIML Conference and 10-1 overall. Ankeny’s records dropped to 1-6 and 2-9.
The Hawkettes will play a non-conference meet at Ottumwa (7-1) on Tuesday before traveling to Urbandale on Thursday for another conference meet against the J-Hawks (8-4).
