Another Ankeny Centennial softball player has made her college decision.
Senior outfielder Lauren Bartine has verbally committed to play for Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge.
“I looked at a few other schools, and it was definitely a tough decision. Everyone had so much to offer,” said Bartine. “However, Iowa Central felt like home.”
Bartine helped the Jaguars to a 34-10 record and a third-place finish in the Class 5A state tournament last season. She earned honorable mention in the CIML Conference.
Bartine played in 40 games with 34 starts. She batted .281 with two home runs, nine doubles and 34 RBIs.
Bartine is one of several Jaguars who will take their talents to the next level.
“The environment and coaches there are amazing, and I am so excited to be committed there and further pursue my academics and athletic career!” she said.
