
The Ankeny Centennial football team landed 10 players on the all-district first team, led by senior running back JJ Morgan, who was named the District 4 Offensive MVP.
Senior offensive lineman Braylin Dieken-Keahey and senior punter Austin McIntire were among the other first-team picks. Dieken-Keahey earned first-team honors for the second straight year after helping the Jaguars to a 5-5 record, while McIntire was selected the District 4 Special Teams MVP after averaging 39.0 yards on 24 punts.
The other first-team picks were senior receiver Cameron Meiners, junior tight end Cade Newman, senior defensive linemen Brandon Bogseth and Houston Luce, senior linebackers Nash Targgart and Will Morris, and senior defensive back Gavin Matheny. Targgart was named to a utility position on defense.
Morgan rushed for 1,224 yards and 18 touchdowns on just 118 carries. He also caught 22 passes for 222 yards and four more scores.

Morgan led Class 5A with an average of 10.4 yards per carry while running behind an offensive line that was anchored by Dieken-Keahey. He ranks second in 5A in rushing touchdowns, fourth in all-purpose yards (1,571), seventh in rushing yards and is tied for eighth in total touchdowns (22).
Meiners had 16 receptions for 482 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 30.1 yards per catch. Newman caught 10 passes for 116 yards and two scores.
Morris led the Jaguars’ defense with 56 tackles. He tied for the team lead in interceptions with two and also recovered a fumble.
Matheny placed second on the squad with 52 tackles. He had a team-high 27 solo stops.

Bogseth recorded 50.5 tackles, including a team-high 11 for losses. He also led the Jaguars with 4.5 sacks.
Targgart made 49 tackles and also forced a fumble. Luce, who was a second-team pick a year ago, had 26.5 tackles and recovered a team-high two fumbles.
Centennial placed seven more players on the all-district second team. They are sophomore quarterback Brekken Miller, junior running back Devan Goode, senior offensive lineman Kane Brooks, sophomore offensive lineman Asher Megonnell, junior linebacker Rowan Doak, senior defensive back Brody Prill and senior punt returner Garrett Stevens.
Five other Jaguars earned all-district honorable mention. They are senior offensive linemen Kenyon Leake and Carter Schutty, junior place-kicker Noah Manning, senior defensive lineman Kade Muehring and junior defensive back Nolan Bennett.
