
Ankeny Christian Academy volleyball standout Breeze Bentz has been named to the Class 1A all-state fourth team by the Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association.
Bentz, a sophomore right-side hitter, helped ACA to a 28-14 record this season. The Eagles advanced to a regional final before falling to BCLUW.
Bentz placed third on her team with 212 kills and 298 digs. She also contributed 39 aces for a squad that placed fourth in Class 1A with 311 aces.
All-district honors

Bentz was also named to the Class 1A South Central all-district team along with three other Eagles, while ACA coach Michele Quick was selected the South Central District Coach of the Year for the fourth consecutive season. Quick guided her team to three straight state titles in 2022-24.
Bentz was joined on the all-district squad by senior outside hitter Ella Leever, junior right-side hitter and defensive specialist Katelyn Weathers and freshman middle hitter and right-side hitter Havanna Dolbeare.
Weathers, who led the Eagles with 335 digs, was a repeat pick. She placed second on her team with 46 aces and also pounded 141 kills.

Leever led ACA with 262 kills and placed second on the squad with 333 digs. She also had 40 aces.
Dolbeare racked up 227 kills while posting a team-best .291 hitting efficiency. She also led the Eagles with 76 blocks and 56 aces.
