
The Ankeny girls’ bowling team posted a season-high score of 1,988 during Thursday’s dual meet against Dowling Catholic at Val Lanes.
It wasn’t enough to produce a victory, though. The Maroons finished with a total of 2,235 to improve to 1-2 in the CIML Conference and 2-2 overall, while Ankeny’s records fell to 0-3 and 0-4.
Olivia Harris bowled a 334 series to lead the girls’ individual scores. She finished one pin ahead of Dowling’s Mia Larson.
Ankeny’s Brooklyn Dietz finished with a total of 302. Willow Zeman rolled a 259, Kylie Morgan had a 233, Piper Zeman bowled a 225, and Ava Johnson had a 208.
Dowling also won the boys’ meet by a score of 2,712 to 2,521. The Maroons are now 1-1 in the league and 2-1 overall, while Ankeny’s records dropped to 0-2 and 0-3.
Preston Carr led Ankeny with a 371 series. Nolan Larson bowled a 352, Sebastian Cook had a 351, Gavin Johnston rolled a 316, George Inman bowled a 315, and Clayton Jamison added a 304.
Both Ankeny teams will host a conference dual meet against Johnston on Thursday at B-Roll Bowling.
