
The Ankeny girls’ wrestling team dropped only one match while defeating a pair of opponents in a double dual meet on Tuesday at Northview Middle School.
Fourth-ranked Ankeny rolled to an 84-0 victory over North Polk before following with a 78-6 win over Des Moines Public Schools to raise its overall record to 11-2. DMPS also lost to Ankeny by the same score at the Ankeny Centennial Duals on Saturday.
Zoe Sullivan at 105 pounds, Isabelle Shafer at 115, Trudy Haag at 120 and fourth-ranked Karlie Kruse at 125 each recorded a pair of falls on the night. Haag, who is ranked 10th at 130, pinned Audrey Lucas of North Polk–her former teammate–in 3 minutes 41 seconds.

Shafer’s second fall came against Avah Blakeman of DMPS in 3:08.
“That was a huge win for Izzy,” said Ankeny coach Dustin Roland.
Raegan Semrow at 100, Kaelynn Boston at 130 and Leah Clark at 135 also had pins against the Comets. Each of their falls came in less than 1 minute.
Haley Togba at 140 and Reagan Stephenson at 155 had the team’s other pins against DMPS.

Ankeny will compete in the Dallas Center-Grimes Holiday Duals on Saturday.
