Wide receivers Peyton Goode and Jordan Kumm helped the Grand View football team to a second consecutive NAIA national championship on Saturday at Crowley ISD Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.

The top-seeded Vikings posted a 22-16 victory over No. 2 seed Keiser to finish the season with a perfect 14-0 record. It was a rematch of the 2024 title game, which was also won by Grand View, 35-7.

Goode, a senior who graduated from Ankeny Centennial in 2022, caught one pass for 16 yards. It came early in the second quarter, setting up a tying field goal for the Vikings.

Kumm, a redshirt senior who graduated from Ankeny in 2020, had one catch for 11 yards in the first quarter. He also saw some action on defense, contributing a pair of tackles.

Dalten Van Pelt raced 80 yards for a touchdown with 22 seconds left in the second quarter to give Grand View a 13-3 lead at halftime. After Keiser rallied to tie the game in the third quarter, the Vikings regained a 19-13 advantage on a 40-yard scoring pass from Jackson Waring to Corey Phillips with 10:08 remaining in the final period.

Grand View extended its margin to 22-13 on a 32-yard field goal by Cory Wood with just over 2 minutes left. Keiser made a late field goal and recovered the ensuing onside kick, but the Vikings’ defense stood tall on the final play, batting down a pass to secure the national championship.

Grand View earned its third national title in program history and its first under coach E.J. Peterson. He took over the program a year ago after Joe Woodley departed to become the coach at Drake.

Kumm started his college career at Iowa Central, then joined Iowa as a walk-on before eventually transferring to Grand View. He was the team’s second-leading receiver in 2025, catching 19 passes for 387 yards and four touchdowns.

Kumm had a 73-yard scoring reception against St. Francis (Ind.) in the second round of the NAIA Championships on Nov. 29. He returned a kickoff 66 yards for a touchdown in a win at Clarke College in the Vikings’ regular-season finale on Nov. 15.

Goode caught 10 passes for 113 yards and two scores. He had a 16-yard touchdown catch in the victory over St. Francis.

In 2024, Goode caught seven passes for 68 yards and a score while rushing 11 times for 89 yards. Kumm had seven catches for 73 yards and two touchdowns.

Former Ankeny standouts Diego Jackson and Mason Randolph are also members of the Grand View squad. Jackson, a 2023 Ankeny graduate, is a junior defensive end. Randolph, a 2025 Ankeny graduate, is a freshman defensive back.
