
The Ankeny bowling teams swept a non-conference meet against visiting Des Moines East on Tuesday at B-Roll Bowling.
Ankeny won the girls’ meet by a score of 1,958 to 1,762 to earn its first win of the season. The squad improved to 1-6, while the Scarlets’ record dropped to 2-5.
The boys’ team, meanwhile, won by a score of 2,216 to 1,823. Ankeny is now 2-4 on the season, while East dropped to 1-6.
“Our boys were led by two freshmen,” said Ankeny coach Adam Booth.
Clayton Jamison bowled a 312 series in the win. Nolan Larson rolled a 301.

On the girls’ side, Olivia Harris led Ankeny with a season-high series of 355.
“Olivia had a great day,” Booth said.
Harris had a high game of 187.
“I really feel like as a team we are coming together!” said Harris. “Piper (Zeman) had a really good day as well, and I’ve been so happy to see her growth this season.”
Zeman had a career-best series of 301. Kylie Morgan bowled a 262, Brooklyn Dietz had a 232, Ava Johnson rolled a 224, and Sophia Kephart added a 199.
The Ankeny teams will host another non-conference meet against Des Moines Roosevelt on Monday at B-Roll Bowling. The Roughrider boys and girls boast records of 2-5 and 2-6, respectively.
