
The Ankeny bowling teams fell to Pella in a non-conference meet on Tuesday at Cardinal Lanes in Newton.
Pella won the boys’ meet by a score of 2,681 to 2,579. Ankeny dropped to 3-5 on the year despite beating its previous season-high score by eight pins.
Pella also took the girls’ meet by a score of 2,381 to 1,847. Ankeny’s record fell to 1-7.
It was the seventh straight win for the Pella girls’ team and the fifth in a row for the boys’ squad. The Dutch teams are now 8-2 and 6-1, respectively.
Sebastian Cook bowled a career-high series of 413 to lead the Ankeny boys’ team. He beat his previous high of 393 that he recorded on Monday against Des Moines Roosevelt at B-Roll Bowling.

Gavin Johnston rolled a season-high score of 391, including a high game of 224. George Inman had a 360, Clayton Jamison bowled a 308, Nolan Larson had a 287, and Preston Carr added a 283.
Carter Failor led Pella with a 503 series. He had a high game of 255.
McKenna Salvador led the Pella girls’ squad with a 376 series. Two of her teammates also posted scores above 340.
Kylie Morgan led Ankeny with a 282 series. Willow Zeman bowled a 261, Piper Zeman rolled a 242, Brooklyn Dietz had a 233, Sophia Kephart bowled a 217, and Ava Johnson added a 206.
Both Ankeny teams will face Southeast Polk in a CIML Conference meet on Thursday at Great Escape. The Rams boast overall marks of 3-3 (girls) and 2-3 (boys).
