Hawks, Jaguars to meet in Class 3A regional dual at Dallas Center-Grimes

There’s going to be a Jag-Hawk rematch on the wrestling mat.

Ankeny (11-6) will face Ankeny Centennial (6-12) in a Class 3A regional dual on Feb. 3 at Dallas Center-Grimes. The winner will then meet Dallas Center-Grimes for a trip to the state duals on Feb. 7 at Coralville.

The Hawks are 12th in the final dual rankings from the Iowa High School Athletic Association, which were released on Tuesday along with the dual pairings. Centennial is ranked 21st, while Dallas Center-Grimes is the No. 4 team in Class 3A.

Ankeny won the first meeting against the Jaguars, 40-28, on Dec. 11 at Centennial. The Hawks got pins from Ben Walsh, Calvin Rathjen, Ryleigh Egeberg and Ryne Dobson en route to the victory.
