Senior Olivia Harris earned all-conference honors for the fourth consecutive year to lead the Ankeny girls’ bowling team to a seventh-place finish in the CIML Conference meet on Thursday at Great Escape.
Harris bowled a three-game series of 505 to place eighth as an individual. She bowled games of 191, 177 and 137.
“I am very proud with how I bowled my first two games,” said Harris. “However, I do wish I would’ve done a bit better my last game, not only because I could’ve placed higher, but also because I know I am capable of more, and my score didn’t reflect that.
“Still, I am very proud of myself as I placed top 10 all four years,” she added.
Harris also placed eighth as a freshman and sophomore. She took fourth last year, when she bowled a 555 series at Game Day Lanes.
Waukee’s Katie Derdowski was the individual champion with a 598 total. Caitlyn Howard of Dowling Catholic bowled a 220 in her final game to earn runner-up honors with a 552.
Waukee easily captured its fourth straight team title. The Warriors posted a total of 2,543 to finish 302 pins ahead of second-place Johnston.
Ankeny finished with a total of 2,103. It trailed fourth-place Valley by just 27 pins.

Ankeny’s Kylie Morgan bowled a 399 series. She had a 161 in her opening game.
Piper Zeman rolled a 395, while Sophia Kephart bowled a 170 in her final game to finish with a 370 total. Ava Johnson had a 366, and Brooklyn Dietz added a 346.
Ankeny will compete in a Class 3A regional meet on Monday at Champion Bowl in Ottumwa.
