Ankeny’s Ainsley Kiene and Jayla Williams have been selected by the Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association to play in the Larry Niemeyer Senior All-Star game.
The event will be held on Saturday at Cedar Falls. It will consist of a series of all-star games, beginning at 9:15 a.m.
Kiene and Williams will both play for the Class 3A/4A/5A Select Gray team coached by Cathy Marx of Clinton and Nate Frese of Iowa City West. Among their teammates will be Jenica Lewis of three-time Class 5A state champion Johnston and Maryne Szalo of Waukee.
The Class 3A/4A/5A Select Gray team will face the 3A/4A/5A Select White squad in the opening game at 9:15. Vana Bilic of Waukee Northwest and Ellie Muller of Dowling Catholic will be among the players on the 3A/4A/5A Select White team, which will be coached by Sam Powell of Northwest.
