
Ankeny standout Jayla Williams has earned all-state girls’ basketball honors for the third consecutive year, while teammate Ainsley Kiene and Lizzie Beam of Ankeny Centennial were both honored for the first time.
Williams, a senior guard, was named to the Class 5A first team by the Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association and the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association. She was previously twice a second-team pick by the IGCA and twice earned third-team honors from the IPSWA.
Beam, a junior guard, was selected to the Class 5A second team by both the Coaches Association and the Print Writers. She also joined Williams on the Class 5A West all-district team from the IGCA.

Kiene, meanwhile, was honored by the IPSWA. The senior guard was named to the Class 5A third team.
Williams led the Hawkettes to a 16-9 record and a trip to the Class 5A semifinals. She averaged a team-high 21.0 points, 3.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.
Beam helped the Jaguars to a 12-12 mark and a sixth straight berth to the state tournament. She averaged a team-high 17.0 points, 1.7 steals and 0.5 blocks.

Kiene averaged 9.0 points and a team-high 6.8 rebounds. She also led Ankeny with 82 assists.
Freshman guard Avlyn Davis of Ankeny Christian Academy was also honored by the Coaches Association. She was named to the Class 1A South all-district squad after helping the Eagles to an 11-10 record.
Davis averaged a team-high 15.8 points and 3.1 assists. She led ACA with 64 3-point goals, shooting 31.4 percent from behind the arc.
