Centennial’s Hiney to play tennis at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake

Ankeny Centennial senior Nick Hiney has signed a letter of intent to play tennis at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. Hiney is in his third season as a varsity regular for the Jaguars. Aided by four first-place finishes, the Ankeny Centennial boys' track squad earned runner-up honors among eight teams in the ADM Tiger Invitational on Thursday at Adel. Jaguars edge Waukee, Johnston golfers to win triangular meet at Sugar Creek

Only six strokes separated the three girls' golf teams in a CIML Conference triangular meet on Tuesday at Sugar Creek. Ankeny Centennial shot a 177 to win the meet. The Ankeny Centennial boys' tennis team didn't quit on Tuesday after falling behind visiting Dowling Catholic, 5-1, in a CIML Conference meet at the Prairie Ridge courts. The Ankeny Centennial boys' soccer team is still going through some growing pains. The Jaguars gave up three goals in the first 28 minutes and went on to drop a 4-2 decision to visiting Dowling Catholic in a CIML Conference game on Tuesday.
