The Ankeny girls’ tennis team tied for third place in the four-team Indianola Invitational on Friday.
Pella won the tournament for the fourth straight year, racking up 148 points. Indianola was second with 126 points, while Ankeny and Southeast Polk both finished with 61.
The Hawkettes were led by Reilly Johnson and Lydia Blatt, who teamed up for a second-place finish at No. 3 doubles. They accounted for 20 of the team’s 61 points.
Blatt and Johnson posted victories over Southeast Polk (10-1) and Indianola (6-5). Their only loss came to Pella, 7-4, in the opening round.
