Chalk up another close win for the Ankeny boys’ tennis team.
Three days after posting a 6-5 victory at Johnston, the Hawks traveled to Mason City on Monday for another non-conference meet and pulled out a 6-5 win over the Mohawks.
After the two teams split the six singles matches, Ankeny won three of the five doubles contests to improve its record to 5-3. Mason City dropped to 3-4.
Andrew Snyder and Andrew Schon again played key roles for the Hawks. They both won their singles matches, then teamed up for another victory at No. 2 doubles.
Caleb VanRees also had a role in two wins. He won the No. 5 singles match and then combined with Cameron Bush for a three-set victory at No. 3 doubles.
Luke Parkinson and Cade Davis won the No. 4 doubles match for Ankeny’s other triumph.
