The Ankeny Centennial boys’ tennis team tuned up for Wednesday’s district tournament with an 11-0 victory over visiting Fort Dodge on Tuesday. The Jaguars finished the regular season with an 8-2 record.
It was Senior Night for Centennial, which will play in a Class 2A district tournament on Wednesday at Dowling Catholic.
“Sam Marold, Matt Tressel, Andrew Unick, Haadi Majeed and Claudio Sanchez were all honored,” said Centennial coach Tami Lewton.
All five seniors contributed to the win. Marold and Tressel each won a pair of matches while losing just one game along the way.
Unick teamed up with his brother, Joel, to win the No. 4 doubles match. Majeed and Sanchez were victorious at the No. 5 doubles spot.
Centennial won six of the 11 matches without dropping a single game. The Jaguars lost a total of just 13 games.
Fort Dodge dropped to 1-10 on the season.
