A home-course advantage helped the Waukee girls’ golf team to the CIML Central Conference dual-meet title on Friday.
The third-ranked Warriors defeated No. 2 Ankeny Centennial, 150-168, in a showdown for the league crown. They finished 5-0 in the conference, while the Jaguars dropped to 4-1.
“Congrats ladies on a good conference season,” Centennial coach Andy Fehn tweeted after the meet.
Tenley Moretti carded a 33 to lead Centennial. She earned medalist honors.
Lauren Sease shot a 40 for the Jaguars. Nikki Ault had a 47, Megan Lazear and Elli Teeple each fired a 48, and Emily Davis added a 49.
Both the Jaguars and Warriors will be back in action on Wednesday in the Central Conference meet at Copper Creek. No. 1 Valley and No. 5 Southeast Polk will also be in the field.
