The Ankeny and Ankeny Centennial girls’ soccer teams will both get to stay at home for regional play.
The fifth-ranked Hawkettes (10-3) have been placed in Region 5 in Class 3A. The No. 4 Jaguars (9-3) have been placed in Region 6.
Ankeny will host a regional semifinal against Mason City (8-4) on May 29 at 6 p.m. Those two teams will also meet in a regular-season matchup on May 17 at Mason City.
No. 12 Cedar Rapids Prairie (10-2) will host Cedar Falls (2-9) or Cedar Rapids Jefferson (0-9) in the other semifinal. The Hawkettes would host the regional final on June 3 at 6 p.m.
Centennial will host a regional semifinal against Fort Dodge (1-9) on May 29 at 6 p.m. It will be a rematch of the season opener on April 2, which was won by the Jaguars, 11-0.
No. 14 Ames (4-5) will host Cedar Rapids Kennedy (3-4) or Waterloo (6-5) in the other semifinal. Centennial would host the regional final on June 3 at 6 p.m.
