The Ankeny Centennial softball team got back on the winning track Tuesday with a 6-0 victory over visiting North Polk in a non-conference game.
The neighboring squads entered the contest with similar records. The Jaguars are now 15-10, while North Polk dropped to 14-9.
Madi Huisman (5-2) earned the win, recording two strikeouts over the first five innings. She combined with Karlie Kaiser and Kayla Stone on a six-hitter.
Centennial, which was coming off a doubleheader loss to eighth-ranked Johnston on Monday, scored a run in each of the first two innings. The Jaguars then used a three-run fourth to break the game open.
Kennedee Jones homered for the second straight night. She hit a solo blast for her fourth roundtripper of the season.
Franie Burnett, Cassie Severson and Cassi Garland each drove in two runs. Burnett and Severson also had two steals apiece.
Carleigh Kray went 2-for-2 with a double for the Jaguars, who will return to CIML Central Conference play on Wednesday with a doubleheader at Ames.
