The Ankeny boys’ tennis team dropped a 10-1 decision at ninth-ranked Dowling Catholic in a non-conference meet on Tuesday.
Owen Somers and Sam Parkinson provided the lone win for the Hawks (1-2). They posted a 6-1, 6-4 triumph over Andrew Scott and David Klemm in the No. 2 doubles match.
Dowling (2-1) was led by Daniel Lu, the defending state singles champion in Class 2A. He posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Mason Lyons in the No. 1 singles match, then teamed up with Marcus Stutz to defeat Lyons and Dylan Victor, 6-2, 6-3, in the No. 1 doubles match.
All 10 of the Maroons’ wins came in straight sets.
Ankeny will face Ankeny Centennial in a CIML Iowa Conference matchup on Thursday.
