The Ankeny girls’ tennis team had a busy day on Thursday.
Due to some earlier postponements, the ninth-ranked Hawkettes were forced to host two opponents on the same day.
Ankeny responded with a pair of impressive victories.
The Hawkettes rolled to an 11-0 win over Waukee Northwest, then later posted a 10-1 triumph over Marshalltown. They raised their records to 5-0 in the CIML Iowa Conference and 6-2 overall.
Ankeny won 10 of the 11 matches against Northwest in straight sets. At No. 1 doubles, Kira Smith and Sophie Schmitz rallied for a three-set victory.
The Wolves dropped to 2-2 in the league and 4-2 overall.
Later, the Hawkettes celebrated their Senior Night against Marshalltown. They dominated the meet, losing only the No. 6 singles match.
The Bobcats’ records fell to 1-2 and 2-4.
Ankeny will play a non-conference meet at Waukee (1-4) on Monday.
