The Marshalltown boys’ tennis team didn’t need a dramatic rally.
This time, the sixth-ranked Bobcats dominated from the start.
After sweeping the five doubles matches to post a 7-4 victory over Ankeny Centennial on Wednesday, Marshalltown extended its winning streak to eight matches with an 11-0 triumph over visiting Ankeny on Thursday.
The Bobcats won all 11 matches in straight sets. They improved to 3-0 in the CIML Iowa Conference and 10-1 overall.
Ankeny has suffered six straight losses since opening the dual-meet season with a 7-4 win at Fort Dodge on April 11. The Hawks’ records dropped to 1-3 and 1-6.
