Overcoming a 3-0 deficit, the Ankeny Centennial baseball team rallied for a 6-3 victory in the second game of a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday at Des Moines Roosevelt to complete a sweep of the twinbill.
The Jaguars scored two runs in the fourth inning and four more in the fifth to raise their record to 5-4 on the season. Roosevelt dropped to 7-7.
Easton Miller (1-0) tossed six strong innings to earn the win, allowing just three hits and recording 11 strikeouts. He also went 2-for-4 at the plate.
Lucas Bruhl went 3-for-4 and drove in a run. Nick Severson went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Kyle Miller went 2-for-4 with a double.
Cole Grider tripled in both games and had two RBIs in the opener. Damin Churchman went 2-for-4 with a double in both games and knocked in three runs on the night.
Sean Stewart (1-1) led Centennial to the win in the first game. He tossed a four-hitter with nine strikeouts while also going 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
The Jaguars will play a CIML Iowa Conference doubleheader at Ankeny (4-5) on Thursday.
