Five Ankeny Centennial baseball players have received all-district honors from the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association along with two from Ankeny and three more from Ankeny Christian Academy.
The Jaguars placed junior catcher Nick Severson, junior second baseman Damin Churchman, junior third baseman Kyle Miller and sophomore utility player Joey Oakie on the Class 4A North Central District first team. They led Centennial to a 25-14 record this season.
That quartet was joined on the first team by the Ankeny duo of junior shortstop Jamison Patton and senior utility player Tamden Webb-Tate. Patton and Webb-Tate led the Hawks to the CIML Iowa Conference title and a 23-14 mark.
Junior outfielder Cole Grider of Centennial was also honored. He was named to the all-district second team.
In Class 1A, the Eagles placed senior pitcher Malachi Johnson and sophomore utility player Eli Christensen on the Central District first team. They led ACA to the best season in school history, including a conference title and a 26-2 record.
The Eagles also landed senior outfielder Ben McDermott on the all-district second team.
