The visiting Carlisle softball team snapped top-ranked Ankeny Centennial’s 13-game winning streak with a 3-1 victory in a non-conference game on Tuesday.
The Wildcats, who are ranked fifth in Class 4A, improved to 15-2 with their fifth straight win. Centennial’s record dropped to 17-2.
The Jaguars were held to seven hits by Addesyn Abel. Cora Boyle was the only player with multiple hits, going 2-for-3 at the plate.
Sydney Morris doubled and scored Centennial’s lone run. She was knocked in by Jordyn Kennedy, who picked up her 30th RBI of the season.
Eighth grader Lauren Sandholm (6-1) suffered her first loss of the season. She allowed two earned runs on five hits while going the distance.
Carlisle’s Ally Nolte doubled and drove in a run. Reagan Roling also had an RBI.
The Jaguars will play a CIML Conference doubleheader at Urbandale (4-13) on Thursday.
