Jack Belding and Tyler Sickerson of Ankeny helped the Turbo Track Club to a runner-up finish in the 4×100 relay in the 17-18 division at the AAU Junior Olympic Nationals last week at Drake Stadium.
Belding and Sickerson teamed up with Colton Manock of North Polk and Logan Fairchild of Winterset to post a time of 41.12 seconds in the final. The team ran a slightly faster time of 41.09 in the preliminaries.
Team Quest won the race. It posted a time of 40.90.
Plus 2 University Track Club crossed the finish line first, but was disqualified for using an ineligible runner. The team used a substitute runner who wasn’t listed as an alternate to replace one of his injured teammates.
