Former Ankeny Centennial teammates Kenna Sauer and Devyn Robinson have received all-American honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Sauer, who made the most of her grad transfer season at Houston, has been named to the third team. In addition to earning all-American honors for the first time—and being the school’s first all-American since 2011—she was a first-team all-Big 12 Conference pick for the third straight year.
Sauer had double digits in kills 21 times this season. The outside hitter also contributed to the Cougars’ defense with 288 digs and 53 blocks.
Robinson, meanwhile, earned her third all-American award at Wisconsin, being named to the honorable mention team. The redshirt senior was a third-team pick in 2020 and 2022.
Robinson ranks third on the team with 2.48 kills per set, tallying double-figure kills in 11 matches. The 6-foot-2 right-side hitter tied her career-high with 21 kills vs. Arkansas in late August.
Robinson earned second-team all-Big Ten honors and first-team AVCA all-Northeast Region awards this season. She has helped the Badgers to the NCAA national semifinals, where they will play Texas on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at Tampa, Fla. The match will be televised by ESPN.
