Jordyn Kennedy and Kori Lincicum each homered twice as the Ankeny Centennial softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader against visiting Creston on Friday.
Lincicum went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs as the sixth-ranked Jaguars won the opener, 11-1, in six innings. She now leads the team with three homers in seven games.
Kennedy went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs in both games. In the nightcap, Centennial rolled to a 12-0 victory in four innings.
The Jaguars improved to 5-2 on the season. Creston’s record dropped to 4-3.
Cora Boyle (3-0) tossed a no-hitter in the second game. She walked two and had four strikeouts.
First baseman Ellie Lorenz got her first start of the season and made the most of it, going 2-for-3 with a double. She drove in four runs.
Payton Drefke added two RBIs for the Jaguars, who jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning and then added three runs in the second, two in the third and one more in the fourth. Lauren Sandholm stole third and came home on a wild throw to end the game.
In the opener, Sandholm (2-1) racked up 10 strikeouts over the first five innings. She allowed one earned run on two hits.
Addi Starr went 3-for-4 with a double and knocked in a run. Mady Ott went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI.
Boyle also doubled and drove in a run. The game ended on a sacrifice fly by Ava Faber in the sixth inning.
The Jaguars will host a CIML Conference doubleheader against No. 5 Johnston (4-3) on Monday. The Dragons beat Centennial, 14-3, in five innings at the Johnston Invitational on May 24.
