The Ankeny bowling teams ventured out of the CIML Conference on Thursday for a non-conference dual meet against Greene County at Spare Time Lanes & Lounge.
The Ankeny girls’ squad remained unbeaten despite posting its lowest score of the season. The Hawkettes won by a margin of 2,024 to 1,797.
“The lanes were tough,” said Ankeny coach Nick Payton. “They were wood.”
Brooklyn Dietz adapted to the conditions though, posting a career-best series of 326 to lead Ankeny. She had a high game of 192.
Kali Ogg bowled a season-best total of 319. Johanna Shaw rolled a 309, Olivia Harris had a 272, Ava Johnson bowled a 219, and Savannah Dye added a 215.
The Hawkettes improved to 5-0 on the season. Greene County dropped to 0-4 even though the Rams had a season-high score.
Greene County won the boys’ meet by a score of 2,775 to 2,341. The Hawks are now 0-5 overall.
George Inman bowled a 344 series to lead Ankeny. He had a high game of 210.
Preston Carr posted a 339 total. Joel Hansen had a 295, Sebastian Cook rolled a 279, and Kolbie Backous finished with a 195.
Trystan Cummings bowled a 417 series for the Greene County boys’ team, which raised its record to 3-2.
The Ankeny teams will host a non-conference meet against Bondurant-Farrar on Tuesday at B-Roll Bowling.
