A win by Reece Dickinson provided the only highlight for the Ankeny Centennial boys’ tennis team as the Jaguars dropped a 10-1 decision to visiting Valley on Thursday.
Dickinson posted a 7-6 (5), 6-2 victory over Frank Scott in the No. 3 singles match. Teammate Nathan Goff also played well at the No. 5 spot, where he won the opening set before eventually falling in a third-set super-tiebreaker.
Dickinson and Goff also lost in three sets at No. 2 doubles. They blanked Scott and Vivaan Desai in the second set before the Tigers rebounded to win the tiebreaker, 10-6.
Valley improved to 3-2 in the CIML Conference and 4-2 overall. The Jaguars’ records dropped to 1-3 and 3-4.
