
The Ankeny boys’ soccer team has moved into the No. 7 spot in the latest Class 4A rankings from the Iowa High School Athletic Association, while Ankeny Centennial fell two spots to No. 10.
Ankeny rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the final 10 minutes to earn a 3-3 tie against then-No. 5 Johnston on Tuesday. The Hawks then posted a 1-0 victory on Saturday at Norwalk, which is now ranked fourth in Class 3A.
Ankeny was slated to host a non-conference game against Marshalltown on Monday, but it was postponed due to the weather forecast. It has been rescheduled for May 19.
Centennial, meanwhile, had its four-game winning streak come to an end with a 7-2 loss at then-No. 2 Dowling Catholic on Tuesday. The Jaguars then rebounded with a 1-0 victory at Norwalk on Thursday.
Valley remains the No. 1 team. The Tigers will host Centennial on Tuesday.
