The surging Ankeny baseball team extended its winning streak to seven games with a 6-5 victory over visiting Dallas Center-Grimes in a non-conference game on Thursday.
The Hawks used a four-run third inning to erase a 3-2 deficit, then held on for the win on their Senior Night. They raised their record to 14-19, while Dallas Center-Grimes fell to 20-9.
Ankeny finished with seven hits off a trio of pitchers, four of them for extra bases. Brady Carter doubled and drove in three runs, while Kobe Behrens tripled and had two RBIs.
Kinnick Vos went 2-for-2 with a triple and knocked in a run. Samuel Sandvig doubled, walked and scored a pair of runs.
Four Ankeny pitchers combined on a seven-hitter. Will Carrel (1-0) got the win with one inning of relief.
The Hawks will host a CIML Conference doubleheader against Valley (14-8, 20-12) on Monday. They dropped a 2-0 decision at Valley in a rain-shortened contest on June 16.
