
The Ankeny Centennial softball team placed four players on the CIML Conference first team and four more on the third team. Two others earned honorable mention, while Ankeny matched the Jaguars with 10 players recognized overall.
Junior infielder Jordyn Kennedy, junior outfielder Mady Ott and senior pitcher Aubrey Scieszinski of Centennial were all named to the first team. They were joined on the squad by junior Kori Lincicum, who was selected to a utility position.
Kennedy was a first-team pick for the third consecutive year. She led the Jaguars to a 34-10 record and a third-place finish in the Class 5A state tournament, where she was named to the all-tournament team along with Ott.
Kennedy nearly won the Triple Crown in Class 5A. She led all large-school players with 21 home runs and 61 RBIs while finishing second in batting average with a .547 mark.

Ott was a repeat selection to the first team. She batted .417 with 14 homers and 57 RBIs.
Scieszinski compiled a 14-4 record with a 2.31 ERA and a pair of saves. She racked up 112 strikeouts while allowing just 38 walks.
Lincicum batted .429 with 11 homers and 49 RBIs. She was also one of the team’s top pitchers, going 9-4 with a 2.72 ERA.
Another Centennial pitcher, freshman Peyten Spiegel, was named to the third team. She was joined on the squad by senior catcher Makenna Foster, sophomore infielder Camden Starr and junior Ava Faber, who was selected to a utility position.
Spiegel posted an 11-2 record with a 3.62 ERA. Faber batted .336 with two homers and 24 RBIs, Foster batted .316 with one homer and 24 RBIs, and Starr batted .368 with five doubles and 18 RBIs.

Freshman outfielder Morgan Fisher of Ankeny was also named to the third team. She helped the Hawkettes to a 13-27 record.
Fisher batted .326 with two doubles, a triple and four RBIs. She scored 14 runs and led the team with 10 stolen bases.
Nine other Ankeny players received all-conference honorable mention, including junior Avery Nelson, who was honored for the third time. Seniors Aubrey Lensmeyer, Madison Meyers and Kaylyn Miller also earned honorable mention along with sophomore Autumn Leinen; freshmen Brylee Bach, Tenley Heidemann and Sarah Munger; and eighth grader Emma Hutchins.
Lensmeyer received honorable mention for the second time in her career. She was a third-team pick last season.
Miller was a repeat selection along with senior Mary Brantley of Centennial. Sophomore Lauren Bartine of the Jaguars also earned honorable mention.
