The Ankeny Centennial boys’ track team placed second in the Brooks Relays on Saturday at Valley. The Jaguars racked up 140 points, finishing 35 points behind the host Tigers.
Nathan Reinke won the 110 hurdles in 14.17 seconds, while Jon Wong took second in the 400 hurdles in 58.38. Centennial won the shuttle hurdle relay in a time of 1:00.55.
Gabriel Vicker captured the 3,200 in 9:43.34. He took second in the 1,600 in 4:38.56.
Avery Gates was the runner-up in the 200 in 22.96 seconds. He finished third in the 100 in 11.21.
Trevor Formanek placed second in the discus with a toss of 140 feet 4 inches. James Jacavino added a third-place finish in the high jump with a leap of 6-4.
Ankeny finished eighth in the eight-team field with 13 points. The Hawks, who competed without many of their varsity regulars, got a fifth-place finish from Ethan Norgaard in the 800.
