The Ankeny boys’ track team came away with a pair of victories in the Eastern Iowa Track & Field Festival on Saturday in Iowa City. The meet featured some of the state’s top track athletes.
Max Smith raced to a victory in the 100. He posted a time of 10.92 seconds.
Distance standout Tim Sindt captured the 1,600 in 4:24.40. He pulled away to defeat Treynor’s Jerry Jorgenson by about 3 seconds.
Jacob Baier also had a good day for the Hawks. He posted throws of 53 feet in the shot put and 150-8 in the discus, placing in both events.
