Ankeny’s Mytika Mayberry has qualified for the finals in the 100-meter dash at the Kansas Relays.
Mayberry won her preliminary heat on Friday in a time of 12.15 seconds, which set a personal record. She now ranks fifth in Iowa in that event.
Teammates Eva van de Mortel and Mikala Sidney also competed in the 100. Sidney was clocked in 12.67, while van de Mortel posted a season-best time of 12.51.
The Hawkettes will run in the preliminaries of the 4×100 relay later on Friday.
The Ankeny Centennial boys’ track team is also competing at the Kansas Relays.
