Sophomore Marissa Larson-Minar is a member of the Ankeny girls’ bowling team. She has helped the Hawkettes to a 7-3 record.
Larson-Minar currently boasts a 225 series average. She bowled a season-high 272 series in the Hawkettes’ victory over Southeast Polk on Jan. 12 at Great Escape.
“She is very quiet, but she’s a determined young lady,” said Ankeny coach Lane Richtsmeier. “She brings the calmness to the team, but at the same time the team helps her break out of her shell.”
Larson-Minar and her teammates will compete in the CIML Iowa Conference meet on Thursday at Fort Dodge.
