The Ankeny boys’ bowling team rolled a season-high score of 2,664 en route to a third-place finish in the CIML Iowa Conference meet on Thursday at Wayward Social in Marshalltown.
The Hawks finished 37 pins ahead of Mason City, which had defeated Ankeny by nearly 300 pins earlier this season.
Marshalltown won the four-team meet with a 3,054 total, edging Fort Dodge by just three pins. The Bobcats defended their league title.
Mason City captured the girls’ crown with a score of 2,676, finishing 52 pins ahead of Fort Dodge. Marshalltown was third with a 2,431 total, and Ankeny finished fourth with a score of 1,282.
Chase Jordan led the Hawks with a career-best 416 series. He bowled a 235 in his second game.
Blake Schumacher had a season-high 404 total, including a 234 in his second game. Jackson Roberts rolled a career-best 376, Kole Jordan had a 346, Aidan Doruska bowled a 314, and Jay Miller added a 271.
The Ankeny girls’ team competed with just three bowlers. Marissa Larson-Minar bowled a 240 series, Kali Ogg had a 239, and Lilianna Sinclair finished with a 164.
Alexis Kenney of Fort Dodge was the girls’ individual champion with a 410 total. Ava Hoard of Mason City was the runner-up with a 390.
The Ankeny teams will travel to Waterloo on Tuesday for a Class 3A district meet at Maple Lanes Bowling Center.
