Former Ankeny girls’ basketball standout Abby Johnson has entered the transfer portal.
Johnson, a freshman guard at Northern State, announced her decision earlier this week via Twitter.
“I would like to thank coach Krueger, coach Neumann, and coach Clark for the opportunity to be a part of their program,” Johnson tweeted. “To my teammates, thank you for the continuous love and support. After much consideration, I have decided to enter the transfer portal.”
Johnson played in eight games for the Wolves, who posted a 13-15 overall record and a 9-12 mark in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. She averaged 1.1 points and 0.5 rebounds.
Johnson went 3-of-6 from behind the arc in her limited action. She had one 3-pointer in games against Michigan Tech, MSU Moorhead and Minot State.
