Six Ankeny Centennial players have been named to the Class 4A North Central all-district first team by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association, while Ankeny landed two players on the second team. Three Ankeny Christian Academy players were honored in Class 1A.
The Jaguars were represented on the first team by junior pitcher Joey Oakie, senior pitcher Easton Pratt, senior catcher Nick Severson, senior first baseman Damin Churchman, senior outfielder Easton Miller and junior Emerson Alberhasky, who was selected to a utility position. Oakie, Severson and Churchman were all repeat selections.
Severson batted .463 with two home runs, 12 doubles and 27 RBIs. He helped lead Centennial to a 30-8 record and a share of the CIML Conference title.
Oakie compiled a 7-3 record with a 1.13 ERA and 91 strikeouts. Pratt went 7-1 with a 0.76 ERA.
Churchman batted .377 with two homers, three triples, eight doubles and a team-high 33 RBIs. Miller batted .330 with 18 RBIs and led the Jaguars with three homers, while Alberhasky batted .340 with one homer and 27 RBIs and also posted a 5-0 mark with a 2.37 ERA.
The Hawks placed senior pitcher Brock Adamson and senior catcher Max Watson on the second team. They led the team to a 21-20 record.
Adamson compiled an 8-3 mark with a 2.62 ERA and 61 strikeouts. Watson batted .398 with seven doubles and a team-high 34 RBIs.
Junior outfielder Brody Hoefle of ACA was named to the Class 1A Central all-district first team. He batted .472 with two triples, three doubles and 30 RBIs while leading the Eagles to a 17-12 record.
Junior pitcher Eli Christensen and freshman shortstop Landon Curtis were both second-team picks. Christensen went 4-3 with a 3.46 ERA and 93 strikeouts while also batting .423 with one homer, eight doubles and 21 RBIs, and Curtis batted .481 with one homer and a team-high 11 doubles and 31 RBIs.
