The CIML Conference boys’ basketball race is far from over.

Third-ranked Valley posted an 84-60 victory over Southeast Polk on Friday and moved one game behind No. 5 Waukee, which dropped a 66-45 decision at Johnston. The Tigers will host Waukee on Tuesday and can move into a tie for first place with a victory.

Ankeny moved into third place with a 76-63 win over No. 8 Ankeny Centennial. The Hawks will play at Valley on Friday and could play the role of a spoiler.

On the girls’ side, top-ranked Johnston wrapped up the conference title with a 72-59 triumph over No. 4 Waukee on Friday. Aili Tanke poured in 23 points as the Dragons kept their hopes for a perfect season alive.

No. 5 Ankeny Centennial maintained sole possession of fourth place with a 53-45 victory at No. 8 Ankeny. The Jaguars closed out the game with a 12-3 run over the last 5 minutes.
