About two weeks after her Ankeny Centennial teammate committed to play softball at Drake, junior Kori Lincicum has decided to follow in Mady Ott’s footsteps.
Lincicum announced on Wednesday that she has verbally committed to the Bulldogs as well.
“I am very excited to be able to play with Mady because we already have a bond and will push each other to be better players, teammates, and people in general,” Lincicum said.
Lincicum helped the Jaguars to a 29-10 record last season. The infielder/pitcher played in 31 games and started 24 times.
Lincicum batted .270 with five home runs and 14 RBIs. She made two pitching appearances, going 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA.
Lincicum said she looked at a few schools before making her decision.
“When I stepped onto Drake’s campus, I got that at-home feeling,” she said. “The coaches were amazing, and the players were so welcoming. Drake will allow me to get an amazing education and is a great school for the (major) I want to pursue.”
