The Ankeny boys’ track team won the sprint medley relay at the DouBrava Invitational on Tuesday at Urbandale.
That was the lone victory of the night for the Hawks, who posted a time of 1:35.92. They finished .15 seconds ahead of Des Moines Roosevelt.
The winning team consisted of Max Smith, Nick Scherle, Brody Brecht and Anyoun Anyoun. They posted the third-fastest time in the state.
Ankeny placed eighth in the eight-team field with 28 points. Waukee won the meet for the fourth straight year with 139 points, finishing 30 points ahead of Dowling Catholic.
Conner Niffenegger placed third for the Hawks in the 110 hurdles. He posted a time of 15.46 seconds.
Kale Crimmins added a fourth-place finish in the shot put. He had a throw of 45 feet 6 inches.
Ankeny ended the meet with a second-place finish in the 4×400 relay. The Hawks were clocked in 3:34.60.
